Historical Maps

Before the modern nation states came into being, Europe was made up of numerous feudal territories, the names of which which are often encountered when compiling genealogy, particularly in the Middle Ages. The following maps are reproduced here to complement the Timelines and to place at least some of these territories into their geographic perspective.
