Samoilov (Samoiloff): САМОЙЛОB

The Samoilov Family

The first historical reference to Samoilov occurs in 1676 when Pyotr Lavrentievich Samoilov is listed as a fief holder among the nobility of Rylsk. In 1689 Ivan Petrovich received a charter from the Emperor in respect of his grandfather's fiefdom. Later several of his descendants served the Russian Throne and were granted fiefdoms for their service.

Details awaited.

The male Samoilov line having become extinct, the title was passed on to the Bobrinskoys by sanction of Grand Duke Vladimir Kirollovich (de jure Emperor Vladimir II Of all the Russias). See Bobrinskoy
