Naryshkin (Narichkine, Narychkine): НАΡЫШКИН
The Naryshkin Family
This family is descended from the Naristsi family in Bohemia who, in ancient times, owned the German City of Eger on the border of Bohemia. In 1463 one Naryshko left the Crimea to serve the Grand Prince Ivan Vasilievich and was given the office of Okolnichii. His descendants, the Naryshkin family, served as Vice-Regent, Voivodes and other distinguished posts, and they were granted hereditary estates and other tokens of the Sovereign’s favour. One of the most important events of the family was the marriage of Natalia Kirillovna, daughter of Kirill Poluekhtovich Naryshkin, nobleman of the Duma and later holder of the office of Okolnichii and a Boyar, to Tsar Aleksei Mikhaiklovich, from which marriage was born Peter I the Great. With the birth of Peter the Great, the Naryshkin family has a gained a prominent place in history.
